  • Facilitating Entering Research

    Entering Research is an evidence-based, active learning curriculum designed to level the research playing field for undergraduate and graduate research trainees from historically underrepresented groups, introduce trainees to the culture of research, support development of the skills trainees need to successfully navigate the research training environment and their mentoring relationships, and create a more welcoming research environment for all trainees.     Registration Details

    This workshop is limited to 32 participants. Participants are faculty, instructors, staff, or administrators whare are committed to implementing mentee training courses, seminars, or workshops for undergraduate or graduate trainees at their institution or organization within the next calendar year.

    We highly encourage teams of two or more people from an institution or organization to attend together. Each individual needs to register.

    The deadline to reserve your spot is two months prior to the workshop and is on a first-come, first-served basis. If the workshop is full, we will add you to a waitlist and notify you if a spot becomes available.

    Cost: Registration is $995 and includes workshop materials, a copy of the Entering Research curriculum, plus breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack on both days.

    Two-Step Registration Process:

    Step 1: Reserve a Spot. To reserve your spot for an upcoming training please complete our brief 5-10 minute Google Form (click the blue button below). You will need to upload a professional photo or headshot as well as a brief bio (max 250 words) describing your title and interest in facilitating mentee training. This information will be shared with workshop participants during the training.

    Step 2: Pay Registration Fee to Confirm Registration. Once you have completed the Google Form reserving your spot, you will receive an email from Julia Vander Meer, CIMER Program Manager, with a link to pay the $995 registration fee. This email will be sent no later than six weeks prior to the training you requested in Step 1. Your registration will be only be complete once we receive your payment.
