Evaluating Your Research Training Course or Program

This is a 1-day, 8-hour interactive workshop offered in person at  UW Madison is focused on developing evaluation plans for research training courses or programs.

Research mentor training—based upon the book Entering Mentoring opens in new tabhas been tested and shown to be effective in increasing mentoring knowledge, skills, and behavior. Furthermore, culturally responsive interactions between mentors and mentees can help historically underrepresented mentees successfully progress in their research careers, becoming effective mentors, scientific leaders, and research team members of the future.

Objective 

This workshop’s goal is to help participants build their knowledge and skills to revise or develop an evaluation plan.

Participant Requirements:

  • Current and former participants in the Entering Mentoring Facilitator Training or Entering Research Facilitator Training and Curriculum Development Institute. 
  • Interested in developing evaluation plans for research training courses or programs or working with an evaluator
